August is over guys! When did that happen? Soon I’ll be starting a new routine aka waking up early since my baby boy will be starting school! Play camp turned out to be really successful! Like I mentioned in my other post, before Leti was born, it was always just the 2 of us and our dog Beanie at home during the day waiting for Papi to get out of work. Now with my partner in crime leaving the nest, ( ok he’s only going to preschool.. and it is only for 2 and half hours but still.. don’t judge me )  hahaha, my first thought was to find something special to use during one on one time with Leti until it’s time for Raulito to come home. Light bulb moment! What better way to make use of this time than with our favorite items from Legacy Learning Academy! From colorful wooden magnetic numbers and letters to personalized laminated sheets with your child’ s name on it, this shop has thought of everything you could need to spread the joy of learning!

As a Mom, I love finding things that can keep my kids entertained while helping them explore their imagination at the same time. LLA is like a much needed breath of fresh air in the midst of all the technology that is geared towards the little ones nowadays.  It’s so nice to be able to go outside and see my daughter waving around a hand kite to “start” the race for her brothers toy cars. She even carries it with her around the house and I like that I don’t have to worry if she tries to sneak a taste in, the ring is sealed with their homemade beeswax and jojoba oil finish! It’s a win win!

Our first purchase from the shop was their muffin tin sorting activity set. I originally bought it with Raulito in mind, assuming Leti would still be too young for it and man did she prove me wrong. Once I placed the 6 color circles in their spots, her face lit up! She loved holding the pom poms in her hands and dropping them in the tin and clapping. Never mind that there was now a rainbow of pom poms inside of the yellow tin, the look on her face was priceless and that’s when I knew we were hooked!

I know that the things I have purchased in this shop will keep Leti happily distracted while Raulito is at preschool. These fun activities are a perfect way to help non school age siblings feel like they are learning while the older ones are away at school. Imagine their face when they come home to see what their younger sibling has accomplished while they were gone! With so many things to choose from, it can get a little overwhelming. It’s ok tho, take a deep breath and add all to cart! No I’m just kidding. Ashley, the super sweet and awesome shop owner is so easy to talk to and is always open to help with recommendations for your child. Here at Red lipstick and crayons we absolutely love and recommend the pre-k prep set! You get a little bit of everything which is pretty cool! It’s a 6 week curriculum that prepares your little one for preschool and it was PERFECT during the summer for Raulito. He looked forward to sitting down at the table to hear the new “game” of the day.
